Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 26/11/2014 (3976 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
THE commercial has come a long way from just being “a word from our sponsor.”
Proving that point is the award-winning commercial compilation, the 2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which will be screening in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium of the Winnipeg Art Gallery from Dec. 4 to 19.
The program, representative of festival’s reputation as “the world’s biggest celebration of creativity in communications,” includes an epic Volvo truck commercial featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme doing the splits as never before, and an ad for a Australian railway smartly marketing “guilt trips” to entice urban adult children to visit their parents in the country.
Tickets are $12 for WAG members, seniors and students, and $14 for non-members. They are available at wag.ca or in person at the WAG front desk. (As many shows sell out, WAG recommends getting tickets early.) See the WAG website for showtimes.
