Saturday night’s alright for Elton John.

The British music legend will play the MTS Centre on May 7 as part of his North American leg of the Greatest Hits Live tour. Tickets for the show go on sale Monday, Feb. 28, for $69, $99 and $149 at Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

Along with singles and hits from his five decade career, John and his band will perform some material from his latest album, The Union, with Leon Russell, according to the tour press release.

John was last in Winnipeg for two sold out shows on Sept. 19 and 20, 2008, which ranked as one of the highest grossing concert stands of the year, taking in $3.4-million in ticket sales, according to Billboard magazine.
