CELEBRATED Quebec director Robert Lepage’s interpretation of the Wagner opera Die Walküre will be the final transmission of the fifth season of Cineplex Entertainment’s The Met: Live in HD series.

With a challenging running time of five and a half hours, the opera will be broadcast in high-definition to a theatre at Polo Park Silver City on Saturday, May 14, starting at 11 a.m.

Ticket prices range from $15.90 for children to $26.25 for adults.

This second instalment of Lepage’s production of the Ring cycle is conducted by James Levine, and stars Bryn Terfel as Wotan, lord of the Gods in his first performances of the role with the company.

Deborah Voigt plays Brünnhilde and Jonas Kaufmann and Eva-Maria Westbroek star as the Wälsungen twins, Siegmund and Sieglinde. Stephanie Blythe is Fricka.
