The MTS Centre ranks 26th among North American venues by Stadium Journey Magazine in its list of top 100 stadium experiences of 2014.

The magazine visited and reviewed more than 2,000 sports venues across the continent for their rankings. Winnipeg’s downtown arena was rated 4.7 out of five based on food and beverage, atmosphere, neighbourhood, fans, access, return on investment and extra features.

The ranking puts the MTS Centre third among NHL arenas, behind the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., and the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

“The atmosphere at MTS Centre is one of the best in the league. Fans are loud and proud. This is experienced right from the arrival of the Jets on the ice, giving them a loud round of applause followed by the first Go! Jets! Go! chant prior to the singing of the anthems. It continues during the anthem when the building does the “True North” shout out during O Canada. This tradition started in the first season the Jets were back as an acknowledgement and thank you to True North Sports and Entertainment who purchased the team and brought them to Winnipeg.”

“The Crown does intend to make an application at a future date … for a remand for assessment to have Mr. Dumas assessed by a court-ordered assessor for the purpose of pursuing a dangerous offender application,” Cam said.
