Hey there, time traveller!

WHEN Mike Schnerch and Kristy Tam appear on Say Yes to the Dress at 8 tonight, only one half of the Manitoba couple will be able to actually watch their cable TV debut.
Schnerch will listen only. “I’m not supposed to see the dress,” says the 47-year-old Canada Revenue Agency employee, who will wed Tam, 29, in September.
Said gown is the one Tam chose from among a sea of taffeta, silk and lace at Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan last October after being selected to appear in Season 6 of the The Learning Channel (TLC) show.
According to the blurb on the show’s website, “Kristy wants to look like a pirate and is armed with a picture of a ‘piratey’ dress she loves.”
Pouffy sleeves we get, but “piratey?” “That’s just Kristy. She likes pirate stuff,” says Schnerch, who met his future wife at work. They currently reside in Ste. Genevieve, southeast of Winnipeg.
The groom-to-be says he was interviewed before the infamous dress-selection process — Tam’s parents, brother and bridesmaids were all present — and thus was spared the drama that has made the reality series such a hit.
“Usually the men will have a sentence or two that gets on the air,” laughs Schnerch, who adds he’s ready to say yes to any dress that earns his beloved’s approval.
“It’s whatever makes her happy.”
Say Yes to the Dress airs tonight at 8 p.m. on TLC.
