Rudick banks win, Bisons nab first team victory in seven years

Jack Rudick knew what it meant personally. He was surprised to find out how significant his breakthrough victory was for his program.

Earlier this month, the fourth-year Manitoba Bisons golfer strung together 36 holes of excellent play to win by four strokes over teammate Rory Neill at the Augsburg Fall Invitational at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minn.

Rudick not only earned the individual victory, but his 5-under-par finish also helped the Bisons to their first team victory in seven years. With Neill (1-under), Terence Rafferty (6-over) and Ethan Portey’s (9-over) cumulative scores, Manitoba combined for a dominant 12-stroke victory.

For Rudick, it was a long-awaited breakout as a university player.

Woman who fled abuse decries lack of consequences for landlord who breached lease-breaking confidentiality

The provincial government is being asked to penalize landlords who breach the confidentiality of tenants breaking a lease to flee domestic violence after a survivor discovered there’s no consequences now.

“It put me in a very difficult situation,” said the woman, who was stunned to see that her landlord copied her abuser in email correspondence, including the domestic violence certificate she obtained to end a tenancy agreement early and leave an abusive relationship.

“My heart dropped to my stomach — I was in disbelief,” she said, recalling the confidentiality breach that occurred in 2025.

“I’m very lucky to be in a situation where it’s no longer a threat to my immediate safety.”

He is 71, but onstage he is ageless, a hyperactive teenager dressed in his signature blue schoolboy uniform and yellow and blue cap, running around, duck-walking and leaping in the air while cranking out riff after riff and extended solos on his trusty black Gibson SG.
