Canada’s Great Kitchen Party took over the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg’s City View Room on Oct. 30. The kitchen party is a competition of local restaurant chefs, wine tasting and Canadian music, while raising funds for the Canadian Olympic Foundation and local music and food initiatives.

Chef Emily Butcher from Deer + Almond won the gold medal, wowing judges with a dish of turnip cake and cod with porcini mushrooms, Chinese sausage, turnip broth and crabapple.

The event funds band equipment for schools, enabling students to discover the magic of music, and helps kids learn from leading Canadian chefs how to grow, cook and share healthy food. For more information, visit greatkitchenparty.com.
