Dear Mike,

Recently my father gave me my grandfather’s tin toy car with trailer.

It measures a total of 26 inches (66 centimetres) long with its trailer. It has its original paint job.

There are no markings anywhere on either piece. Can you tell me who makes it and how much it would be worth?

— Nick H., Winnipeg

Dear Nick,

Your grandfather’s car and trailer were made by the Wyandotte toy company located in the United States.

The car is modelled after a LaSalle automobile. This set was made in the late 1930s, and is made of pressed steel.

Your car and trailer in its condition would sell for $350 to $400.
