KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Police in British Columbia’s southern Interior say a man has been found dead days after he was reported missing at a ski resort outside Kamloops.
The body of 68-year-old Tomasz Jaholkowski was discovered near an area of Sun Peaks Resort, and RCMP say there’s no suspicion of criminality in the death.
Police had issued a statement asking for the public’s help in finding Jaholkowski on Thursday, saying he’d been reported missing to the Tk’emlups RCMP detachment on Wednesday, the day before he was last spotted checking into a run at the resort.
RCMP, ski patrol and search and rescue personnel had been involved in the efforts to find him, which also included helicopters and drones.
Sun Peaks Resort had said Jaholkowski was last seen on Tuesday at its West Bowl chairlift on Tod Mountain.
Mounties say in a statement issued Friday that the BC Coroners Service has been notified and is investigating the man’s death.
