Peavey Mart is making a comeback.

A message posted to the farm goods retailer’s website says the brand that closed all its stores earlier in the year is planning to reopen in select Alberta markets.

The note says Spruce Grove, Westlock, Camrose and Lacombe will all see Peavey Mart return this fall.

The company says the new iteration of the brand will focus on high quality and locally sourced items meant for farmers, ranchers, homesteaders and more.

It promises to release more details about the relaunch in the coming weeks.

Peavey Mart announced plans in January to close all 90 of its stores and another six under the MainStreet Hardware banner because of low consumer confidence, increased operating costs and continued disruptions to its supply chain.

“Using information associated with the school’s hockey team account to access and review a student’s social media account, without any legitimate educational or workplace purpose, was inappropriate and inconsistent with the professional boundaries expected of a teacher,” commissioner Noni Classen wrote.

A five-page report, better known as a consent resolution agreement, details agreed-upon facts about an October 2025 incident and subsequent disciplinary action.

Morrissette, who spoke to the Free Press Wednesday after police released details about the rescue, said she and her neighbour began looking for the child’s parents and found them at the nearby playground searching for her.

Morrissette waved them over. The father, who she said could not swim, jumped into the river first and immediately began to sink.

The now 18-year-old offender was one of three intoxicated teens who were “looking to get into a fight” when they crossed paths with the 21-year-old male who was walking in Swan River’s Legion Park, Nov. 1, 2024, and violently attacked him, provincial court Judge Geoffrey Bayly said in a recently released written decision.

The offender pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

The victim, described as “highly intoxicated and vulnerable” at the time of the killing was not identified by name in the court decision or in media reports following the killing.
