Shabbat Time — The fourth commandment states, “Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy.” We’re not Jewish, so what is “Shabbat” and what has it got to do with Unitarian Universalists? Wendell Berry puts it this way: “Sabbath observance invites us to stop. It invites us to rest. It asks us to notice that while we rest the world continues without our help. Stories from the Arctic — Church member Lisa Naylor will share what she learned sailing from Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T., to Prince Rupert, B.C., as part of the Canada C3 expedition, which connected Canadians from coast to coast to coast and inspired a deeper understanding of the land, the peoples and the past, present and future of our country. On Sunday, July 22, at 11:15 a.m., St. Andrews-on-the-Red will be holding its Commemoration of the Dearly Departed service. The service begins in the church with a communion service and continues outside in the cemetery, rain or shine. People are asked to bring their own flowers to be blessed before proceeding to the actual gravesites. If you have a loved one in our cemetery, or know someone who does, please plan on attending this special service. If your loved ones are in another cemetery, you can still remember them at our service. For further information, please call 204-338-7483.

The Mahanta, A Spiritual Guide for Our Times — Members of all faiths are invited to an ECK Light and Sound Service. Listen to a reading from the ECK writings, and discuss spiritual principles.
