Winnipeg Police busted a pair of marijuana grow-ops Wednesday night, seizing more than $700,000 worth of drugs, equipment and paraphernalia.
More than 540 plants with a street value of about $606,000 were seized from a house in the 900 block of Aldgate Road late yesterday afternoon. More than $20,000 of grow-up equipment was also seized.
A 48-year-old male was arrested and is facing charges of production of a controlled substance, possessing a substance for the purpose of trafficking, theft of electricity or gas over $5,000 and theft over $5,000. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
A couple of hours later, nearly 70 plants worth about $77,000 and a pair of .22 calibre rifles were seized in another raid, which hit a pair of suites in an apartment block in the 300 block of Machray Avenue and a house in the 500 block of Lansdowne Avenue.
