An Ontario company is gifting a Sandy Bay First Nation family with a new home after a fire earlier this month killed their nine-year-old child and ruined the four-bedroom bungalow.
The fire that killed Hope Richard on Feb. 4 started after a wood stove started the blaze.
RJ Ecosafe Homes, a First Nations company located in Ohsweken, Ontario, said it will build a new fire-resistant home for the displaced family. Twelve people were in the home when the blaze occurred.
