TORONTO — The University of Manitoba’s Simon Blaszczak is about to get poked, prodded and tested by all eight Canadian Football League teams.
Blaszczak, a 6-foot-5 receiver with the Herd, is one of 50 prospects attending the CFL’s Evaluation Camp which begins tonight here in Toronto with interviews and continues through the weekend with testing and on-field drills.
The CFL’s Scouting Bureau has listed the top four prospects as Alberta O-lineman Simeon Rottier, Bishops running back Jamall Lee, Windsor O-lineman Matt Morencie and Laval defensive linemen Étienne Légaré.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts currently hold the top four picks in the draft with the Ticats picking first overall in the proceedings, scheduled for May 2.
The Bombers’ first selection in the draft doesn’t come until the third round — 19th overall — after giving their first pick (3rd overall) to the Ticats in last September’s trade for Zeke Moreno and surrendering their second rounder (11th overall) as part of the Stefan Lefors deal.
Bomber fans may remember Blaszczak from a few years back when he attended training camp in 2005 before playing with the Winnipeg Rifles. A big-time fan of Milt Stegall, he earned the nickname ‘Mini-Milt’ during that camp.
