CN police will appear at railway crossings around the city today as part of Rail Safety Week.
During the ‘safety blitz,’ officers will urge drivers and pedestrians to be careful at railway crossings, and tell them about the dangers of trespassing on tracks and other railway property.
CN police will make stops at crossings at Grandmont Blvd. and Rue des Trappistes today, at Chevrier Blvd. tomorrow and at Shaftesbury Blvd. Thursday.
According to CN, 287 people died or were seriously injured last year in incidents involving trespassing or railway crossings.
