WINNIPEG — Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be in Winnipeg to speak tonight at the 10th anniversary gala of the Frontier Centre for Public Policy, a political think tank.

Former Canadian ambassador to the United States, Alan Gotlieb, will also speak at the dinner to be held at the Victoria Inn and Convention Centre at 1808 Wellington Avenue. Reception begins at 6 p.m and dinner at 7 p.m.

 

A local union group has planned a demonstration for Harper’s appearance. The Winnipeg Labour Defence League is organizing to protest the Harper government’s anti-labour policies, including re-writing the collective agreements for autoworkers in southern Ontario.
