The turmoil over how the NDP filed is 1999 elections expenses dominated question period at the Manitoba legislature again today.

The Tory opposition traded shots with Premier Gary Doer over how the New Democrats calculated campaign expenses and the role of Elections Manitoba in its handling of the matter.

The NDP paid back $76,000 years later, but says it did nothing wrong and was at one point considering taking the issue to court for a judge to decide.

The Tories are pushing for a public inquiry into the affair, but the NDP has pushed back, saying the matter was settled years ago.
