WINNIPEG — An optional practice was the main activity at the MTS Centre this morning as the Manitoba Moose continued preparations for Friday’s Game 6 of the Calder Cup final series against Hershey.

The Moose, fresh off a 3-2 win in Hershey on Tuesday that brought the series back to Winnipeg, trail the best-of-seven series 3-2 and need to win twice to capture their first league championship.

Game 6, and Game 7 if it’s needed, are both sold out (15,003).

Several of the main players in Tuesday’s road win stayed off the ice today, including goalie Cory Schneider and forwards Jason Krog, Jason Jaffrary and Michael Grabner.

Even before they open the doors downtown on Friday, the Moose already finished first in AHL in playoff attendance. They’ve drawn 101,092 for 10 home playoff games.

The Bears were expected to arrive in Winnipeg sometime later today.
