WINNIPEG – Two young men are in police custody after shots were fired at a home in the 800 block of Redwood Avenue early Thursday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., a man heard a commotion at the rear of his home and found several people fighting and damaging a vehicle. The man told them to leave, and sprayed bear spray at them when they approached him, according to a police press release.
One of the males was armed with a handgun and fired shots towards the man’s home. All the people causing the ruckus then fled, and police were called.
While investigating, officers were advised of a male allegedly armed with a handgun entering another home in the 800 block of Redwood Avenue.
Several police units and the tactical support team secured the area. After about four hours, several people were removed from the home without incident.
A 17-year-old male was charged with failure to comply with conditional sentence order and a 19 year-old-male was charged with failure to comply with conditions of recognizance.
Police said a firearm was found inside the home.
The investigation continues.
