WINNIPEG — Child Find Manitoba is renewing its plea for public help on the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Amber McFarland of Portage la Prairie.
McFarland, 24 at the time, was last seen leaving the Cat & Fiddle Night Club in Portage in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008. She was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. RCMP is treating her disappearance as a homicide.
“The likelihood that someone out there knows information regarding Amber’s disappearance is high,” said Christy Dzikowicz, Director of Child Find Manitoba, in a press release. “Imagine the heartache of Amber’s family, the not knowing. We are asking anyone who thinks they may have information on Amber’s disappearance to report it – no matter how vague or fuzzy that recollection may be. What someone may not consider important, could be the piece of information needed to provide long awaited answers for Amber’s family.”
Citizens wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to provide information through the Winnipeg Crime Stoppers program at 1-800-222-8477 or to Child Find Manitoba at 1-800-532-9135. Anyone with information regarding this matter may also contact the RCMP in Portage la Prairie at 204-857-4445.
