WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Rifles junior football team announced Wednesday that Greg Graceffo of Winnipeg has been named head coach and will lead the team into the 2010 Prairie Football Conference season.

Graceffo, who has served on the Winnipeg Rifles board since the team’s inception in 2002, has coached amateur football for 24 years.

During the past three seasons, Graceffo has been the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator with the St. John’s Tigers of the Winnipeg High School Football league.

Graceffo, who works as Manitoba’s assistant deputy minister of corrections, has also coached in Manitoba’s provincial teams program. In 2005, he led the under-17 provincial team to a gold medal in the Football Canada Cup.

The third head coach in Rifles’ history, Graceffo replaced Paul Normandeau who coached the team in 2007-2009. Prior to that, Mike Watson coached the Rifles in 2002-2006.
