WWE wrestler Chris Jericho was arrested in Kentucky on Thursday and charged with being drunk in public.
The Winnipeg-born grappler was with another WWE wrestler, Greg “Hurricane” Helms, who allegedly hit several people, including a woman, before he and Jericho were arrested at a gas station at about 4 a.m., say police.
The violence apparently started when a group of people including Jericho and Helms were in a taxi cab. The allegation is that Helms hit three people, including Jericho, another man and a female passenger.
When police arrived, both Helms and Jericho were arrested for being drunk.
So far, none of the three victims has pressed charges of assault against Helms.
Jericho, whose real name is Chris Irvine, went to school in Winnipeg and graduated in 1990 from the Creative Communication program at Winnipeg’s Red River College.
Ted Irvine, Jericho’s father, played 12 seasons in the NHL.
In 2001 in San Diego, Jericho became the first undisputed world champion in the modern era of wrestling by beating WWF champion “Stone Cold” Austin.
