SWIFT CURRENT – Team Canada remained perfect, after near perfection, with a 6-4 victory tonight over the U.S. to improve to 7-0 at the Worlds Women’s Curling championship.
The Jones foursome curled a combined 96 percent, while second Jill Officer was a perfect 100 percent and lead Dawn Askin was 98 per cent.
The Americans fell to 5-2 for the tournament, while Scotland’s Eve Muirhead climbed to 6-1 Tuesday with a 10-12 thrashing of Lativa.
Russia, Germany and Sweden, all 4-3, remain in the playoff hunt.
Canada continues the round robin Wednesday morning (9:30 p.m./TSN) against Japan, before an afternoon draw against Germany (4-3) at 2:30 p.m. (TSN).
