Hey there, time traveller!

More than three and a half inches of rain has come out of the sky in the last 24 hours but it’s practice day as usual at Pine Ridge Golf Club today.
The 158 players in the $300,000 Canadian Tour Players Cup are making their final preparations on the course today. Action in the 72-hole championship begins officially on Thursday.
Defending champ Graham DeLaet is not present at Pine Ridge. He’s now an exempt member of the PGA Tour.
The Players Cup field, though, sports 48 of the Tour’s top-50 money-winners in 2010.
At the end of the tournament, the new champion takes home a cheque for $48,000 and an invite to next week’s RBC Canadian Open at St. George’s in Toronto.
As well, the top five players on the Tour’s money list at the completion of the Players Cup will be invited to the Open.
Pine Ridge, playing to par 71 and 6,600 yards this week, fared well through Tuesday night’s thunderstorms and this morning’s follow-up deluge. The course had been looking hard and fast for Tuesday’s pro-ams but should be considerably softer once play begins Thursday morning.
Eight Manitoba players are in the field, including amateur Scott Markham, Tour members Adam Speirs, Matt Johnston, Ryan Horn and Tyler Mancini, as well as Dean North, host pro Shane Dick and Scott Borsa.
