WINNIPEG — Scores were markedly higher today but Transcona’s Mike Berney maintained his lead atop the leaderboard at the Manitoba Senior men’s chamionship at Glendale.
Berney struggled to a six-over 78 to post a two-day total of 149, five-over-par.
That’s good enough to lead three-time defending champion Don Jackson by one shot heading for Thursday’s final round. Jackson shot 76 today, the day’s lowest round.
Third after two days is St. Charles’ Ken Mould, who’s at nine-over after a 79.
Former Manitoba Amateur champion Gary Kullman of Rossmere was tied for fourth at 10-over, with Willow Park’s Jack McDiarmid.
Play was interrupted mid-round today to wait out a lightning storm that passed over the city.
