Mayoral candidates Sam Katz and Judy Wasylycia-Leis have been invited to a vigil in the memory of murder victim Darren Walsh at the corner of Euclid St. Avenue and Main Street at 8 p.m. tonight.
That is the location where Walsh, 24, was gunned down in the middle of the afternoon July 4 at a bus stop in the company of a 12-year-old girl and her mother.
Tonight’s vigil was organized by Walsh’s mother, Nancy Goulet. She extended an invitation to the mayoral candidates and supporters seeking “justice for my son Darren and others who have been murdered.”
Walsh was killed by a man with a man who reportedly stepped off a bus, crossed the street and shot Walsh three times.
Police charged Jheruel Mananghaya with second-degree murder.
