WINNIPEG – An anonymous flyer attacking incumbent councillor John Orlikow was delivered to homes in River Heights-Fort Garry over the weekend and Orlikow says it’s the work of his opponent, Michael Kowalson.
Orlikow filed a formal complaint at city hall’s election office this morning.
The flyer, signed by the Concerned Residents of River Heights, says Orlikow failed the neighbourhood and abdicated his responsibility to consult residents about new bike paths.
Orlikow says the Concerned Residents are really Tory activists who serve with Kowalson on the local riding association and Jan Currier, wife of CJOB’s Geoff Currier, who lost to Orlikow in the last election.
Orlikow has also been invited to a rally tomorrow morning about the active transportation traffic circles and bike paths through River Heights. Orlikow says the event is little more than a campaign event for Kowalson, not a real grassroots protest.
