The much-publicized launch of a pair of Winnipeg radio station morning shows has been postponed due to a flu bug.

CHUM Radio Winnipeg was poised to officially introduce the familiar morning trio of Beau, Tom and Frazier this morning on FAB 94.3, a new station that launched Dec. 26, but the kickoff was delayed when one host, Beau, called in sick.

FAB 94.3 (formerly known as Curve 94.3 and Q94 prior to that) has a new format that features artists of the ’60s and ’70s including the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones, Eagles and Elton John.

According to Chris Brooke, the program director for both stations, a flu bug has hit the station hard but he is hopeful that Beau will be able to return for the morning show launch on Thursday.

Jay and Andrea (formerly of CURVE 94.3) were also set to launch a new morning show today on another CHUM station, 99.9 BOB FM, but that show was also postponed due to co-host Andrea Collins also having the flu. Her status is day to day and in her absence the morning show on 99.9 Bob FM will air tomorrow with host Jay Richardson.

The Free Press telephoned, emailed and knocked on the door of CHUM Radio earlier this morning in an attempt to get further details, but no one responded.
