Aboriginal apprentices in Manitoba are now eligible for a new bursary established in memory of Tim McLean, an aspiring motor vehicle mechanic before his death in 2008.
The Tim McLean Memorial Bursary Fund will be awarded annually to prospective or current aboriginal apprentices as part of the Apprenticeship Endowment Fund, which was created to address financial barriers facing Manitoba apprentices.
The apprenticeship fund is managed by the Winnipeg Foundation. Recipients will be selected based primarily on financial need, with consideration to academic standing and a personal written statement from each applicant.
Information and applications are available on the Apprenticeship Manitoba website.
Deadline is April 30.
