Mad Men‘s January Jones was making the rounds at the Golden Globes solo for a reason, it seems. The actress recently split from her Saturday Night Live star boyfriend Jason Sudeikis, People reports, seven months after making their couplehood official — by making out at the ESPY Awards.
Like so many failed relationships, Hollywood or otherwise, People reports that theirs was a casualty of long distance. “They’ve been on and off for a few months, and then the long distance kind of ended it,” a snitch told the mag. Sudeikis works on SNL from New York; Jones films Mad Men in L.A.
“But they could get back together,” People‘s source added. “It was just hard to stay together with the distance.”
Apparently People and Us Weekly have been speaking to Jones/Sudeikis “insiders” with much different takes on the relationship, though. Around the time the two stars started seeing each other last summer, one of Sudeikis’s friends told Us they were hardly a match.
“His friends don’t understand why he’s dating her,” the snitch told the magazine. “They call her an airhead behind his back. She doesn’t get their jokes. They’ve only known him to date smart, funny women.”
Sudeikis, 35, was previously married to Kay Cannon, a writer/producer on 30 Rock. According to the Daily Mail, Jones, 33, has been previously linked to Adrien Brody, Jeremy Piven, Ashton Kutcher and Josh Groban.
