WINNIPEG — All Winnipeg flights to and from Chicago have been cancelled today and some flights to and from Toronto as well, as a wicked winter storm hammers the U.S. Midwest and moves north.

The winter weather has forced the cancellation of thousands of flights in the Windy City, and caused damage to the Chicago Cubs’ famed Wrigley Field.

Winnipeg travellers are being advised to check their flight status before heading to James Richardson International Airport today. The website to check is www.waa.ca.
