Claude Noel has surrounded himself with a few good men.

The Winnipeg Jets head coach announced Friday three additions to his staff with the hiring of Charlie Huddy as an assistant Coach, Wade Flaherty as the goaltending coach and Tony Borgford as the video coach.

The 52-year-old Huddy has spent the last 12 seasons in the NHL as an assistant with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, and Dallas Stars. Huddy was a head coach for one season in 1997-98 when he led the ECHL’s Huntington Blizzard to a record of 34-29-7.

The long-time Oiler defenceman spent 18 years in the NHL, winning five Stanley Cups with Edmonton (’84, ’85, ’87, ’88, ’90) and played in 1,017 NHL games for the Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres, and St. Louis Blues.

Flaherty, 43, spent the last three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks as their developmental goaltending coach. He retired in 2008 after a 19-year pro career in the IHL, ECHL, AHL, and NHL, including 120 games for the San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, and Nashville Predators. Flaherty has an association with Noel, having played for him when the Milwaukee Admirals won the Calder Cup in 2003-04 and spent three years with the Moose, posting a 62-36-9 record.

Borgford, 37, worked with the Atlanta Thrashers since their inception in 1999 and joined the hockey operations department in 2000. He became the video coordinator/coach in 2002.
