Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers chairman of the board Ken Hildahl has died.

Hildahl died suddenly Friday.

Hildahl served 10 years on the Bombers’ board of directors, including five as the board chair.

Blue Bombers president Jim Bell said in a statement late Friday that “Ken had very strong ties to the Blue Bombers family and was a truly dedicated and committed individual who poured his heart and soul into this organization. We would like to express our sincere sympathies to the Hildahl family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.. This is another major loss for our organization and a very sad day for everybody involved with the Winnipeg Football Club.”
