Police are now looking for a third man in the abduction of two Winnipeg children three years ago.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Robert Groen, who was last seen in the city in February this year.

Police said Groen is a friend of Kevin Maryk, the father of two missing children, Abby and Dominic Maryk.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 41-year-old wanted male, Robert Groen. Groen was last seen on February 6, 2011, leaving his residence in Winnipeg. He is believed to have left the country. Groen is a known associate of Kevin Maryk. The Winnipeg Police Service's investigation into the abduction of Abby and Dominic Maryk in 2008 has revealed that Groen had assisted Kevin Maryk in the abduction. As such, he is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Maryk and the two children disappeared in 2008, and police charged him with the abduction.

Police said Groen helped Maryk take the children, and now he’s been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Groen is believed to have left Canada, said police.

He’s Caucasian, 5’9, and 160 pounds. He has a medium build and shaved brown hair, as well as green eyes.

Police asked anyone who’s had contact with Groen in the last two years, or who has information about the abduction is asked to call The Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 986-6250.
