BRANDON — Four more players have quit the floundering Neepawa Natives.
According to the Brandon Sun, goaltender Riley Feser of Brandon, along with defenceman Connor Faupel and forwards Tyler Swerdyliak and Tyler Larson were the latest to the leave the Manitoba Junior Hockey League club on Wednesday.
The Natives have now had 14 players either traded, released or have walked out on the club in the past seven days in the wake of a team hazing scandal that occurred in late September.
The MJHL club was fined $5,000 and had 16 players suspended along with head coach Bryant Perrier (two games) and former assistant Brad Biggers (suspended indefinitely), who has since left the team.
The hazing incident is still the subject of an RCMP investigation while the league has also re-opened its investigation with former police officer Ron Bell brought in to take a second look at the incident and player testimony.
With just 14 skaters in the lineup and team executive member Myles Cathcart listed as coach in the absence of Perrier on Wednesday night in Waywayseecappo, the Natives dropped their sixth straight game, falling 7-2 to the Wolverines.
