WINNIPEG – An all-candidates forum will be held Thursday, focusing on issues facing special-needs students in the Winnipeg School Division.

The candidates for the vacant Ward 1 school board seat will be at Grant Park High School at 7 p.m.

The forum is being organized by Family Advocates for Special Needs Students in the Winnipeg School Division, the former Ellen Douglass Parents Association. The group is made up of parents, guardians and foster parents of special-needs students in the division.

The trustee byelection on Nov. 26 was sparked by the resignation of Joyce Bateman, who ran successfully to become a federal MP in Winnipeg South Centre.
