Jets’ recycling program takes off

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets are teaming with the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA) to encourage fans to recycle.

Custom-made recycling bins will be placed throughout the MTS Centre to make it easier to recycle beverage containers at all events, as part of the CBCRA’s Recycle Everywhere program.

“Over 600,000 patrons will enter the MTS Centre doors during our inaugural season to cheer on our Winnipeg Jets,” said Jim Ludlow, President & CEO of True North Sports & Entertainment Limited. “With the amount of bottled and canned beverages sold in our concessions on a game-by-game basis, we are thrilled to partner with ‘Recycle Everywhere’ to reaffirm our commitment to the environment.”

CBCRA’s primary goal is to achieve a 75 per cent recovery of all beverage containers sold in Manitoba. The Recycle Everywhere Program provides bins free of charge to schools, municipalities and businesses to allow consumers to recycle beverage containers while away from home
