BUFFALO, N.Y. — Off of two stinging defeats on the road this week, the Winnipeg Jets held only an optional practice today at First Niagara Center.

After some late-morning video sessions, about half the team participated, mainly because a flu bug has been going around the team, head coach Claude Noel said.

“We have some guys with a little bit of the flu that’s been going around for about four days now,” Noel said. “It’s a short stint, this flu thing.

“Between that and three (games) in four days, we watched some video this morning. We watched some things. We’re trying to get ourselves back on track in some areas.”

The Jets, now 19-16-5, lost 7-3 in Montreal on Wednesday and 4-0 to the Leafs in Toronto on Thursday. Their road record is now 5-10-4 heading into Saturday night’s game here against the Buffalo Sabres.

“We feel we know where the issues and areas are and we’re trying to get them changed,” Noel said.

Centre Bryan Little skated again today. He has been out since Dec. 17 after blocking a shot with his foot. Noel sounded uncertain if Little can return against the Sabres.

“I’d hope so but I don’t know if that’s a guarantee yet,” Noel said.

Little said he still wasn’t sure if he’d be in on Saturday night.

The team is also missing defenceman Dustin Byfuglien, who may return next week.
