When you step up to the 50-50 kiosk at Winnipeg Jets game, visions of winning the jackpot invariably dance in your head.

But did you ever stop to think where the other half of the money goes? The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is the recipient, the team’s charity arm.

Formerly known as the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation, this year it plans to distribute about $1 million to deserving programs throughout the city. The beneficiaries are often underprivileged kids.
