Three individuals were taken into custody Saturday night following a raid on a residence in the Lord Selkirk Park housing complex.

Witnesses said there was a large number of tactical officers and paramedics on the scene for the raid on the residence in the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue.

A Winnipeg Police Service spokesman said the raid was triggered by a firearm search warrant.

A search of the residence led to the seizure of a small quantity of crack cocaine, valued at $340, a small quantity of marijuana, cash, pepper spray, two swords and one machete, and a variety of ammunition.

Three occupants – a 15-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman – were arrested and charged with several drug and weapon related offences.

All three remain in custody. They are believed members of a local street gang.

A WPS spokesman said the identities of the adults will not be released to protect the identity of the 15-year-old.
