A man was evicted from Canad Inns Stadium on Saturday night after he ran onto the field during the Bomber game and tackled one of the football team’s mascots.
The incident occurred during a commercial break in the televised game, during which time Winnipeg Blue Bomber’s mascots Buzz and Boomer performed for fans.
A video shows the man ran onto the field and sprinted towards Buzz, who was in the middle of a routine. The mascot was struck from behind and fell to the ground.
The man continued to run across the field until he was quickly escorted out by security.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers spokesman Darren Cameron said the issue was dealt with as per protocol, and the man was evicted from the stadium.
Buzz did not sustain any injuries.
