WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets have been busy again with the NHL’s waiver wire.
Reports are this morning that the Jets have claimed centre James Wright, who was waived by the Florida Panthers this week.
Wright is a 22-year-old Saskatoon native who re-signed with Florida in the off-season. He has a two-way contract this year, but is on a one-way at $650,000 next season.
He has played 49 NHL games to date, all with Tampa Bay. He was playing for the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage this season, recording five goals and 17 points in 40 games.
Earlier this week, the Jets claimed Anthony Peluso off waivers from St. Louis.
