OTTAWA — Ondrej Pavelec is a doubtful starter in goal for the Winnipeg Jets Saturday afternoon when they play the Ottawa Senators (1 p.m. CT, CBC, TSN1290).
Pavelec accompanied the team to the nation’s capital today but has the flu and did not practise.
It likely means that Al Montoya will be in the net Saturday against the Sens.
The Jets were also without defenceman Dustin Byfuglien again today. Byfuglien didn’t make the trip and was seen earlier in the day at the MTS Centre, where he was likely receiving treatment, watching the Maple Leafs at practice. Byfuglien has missed four games, will miss a fifth tomorrow, and is still day-to-day coach Claude Noel said today, with an undisclosed injury.
Defenceman Zach Bogosian did practise with the team today here, his first full practice with the team since being cleared for activity following off-season wrist surgery. He likely is being targeted for game action sometime next week.
