Stung by injuries and inconsistent play, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added three players to their practice roster for depth.
The club announced Monday the signings of defensive linemen Aaron Crawford and Mathieu Boulay, both Canadians, and import linebacker Shelly Lyons.
Boulay (6-2, 250, Bishop’s) attended the Montreal Alouettes training camp earlier this season after being a final cut of the Saskatchewan Roughriders last year. He appeared in 10 games with the Riders in 2011 and with the Gaitors was their lineman of the year as a senior.

Crawford (6-4, 250, St. Mary’s) was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the sixth round of the 2012 draft but was released after training camp after trying to move from the line to the fullback position. He then joined the Riders practice roster and attended their training camp this year.
Lyons (6-2, 225, Arizona State) played in 43 games over four years with the Sun Devils – including 12 starts – and signed with the Miami Dolphins last year as an undrafted free agent before being released.
