Organizers of the Super-Spike volleyball tournament and party are beaming, after the 2013 event raised a record amount of money for the Canadian women’s volleyball team.
Over two days in July this year, the 12th annual edition of Super-Spike raised $155,000 for the national women’s team. Exactly 432 teams competed in the tournament, playing over 900 games, while bands and DJs kept the party popping.
In 12 years, Super-Spike has raised over $700,000 to support the National Women’s Volleyball team, which is based in Manitoba.

On that note, the national team is taking on the Peruvian national team tonight at 7 p.m. at the University of Manitoba’s Investors Group Athletic Centre in the third game of a series. The evening is designated as Super-Spike Appreciation Night, and all are welcome to attend.
