Hey there, time traveller!

Jovon Johnson has showcased many skills during a seven-year Canadian Football League career but the most impressive might be this: he’s as durable as granite and as tough as they come.
That much has been evident over the last few days when the veteran Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back exited Monday’s win over the Montreal Alouettes with an ankle injury, was seen in a walking boot a day later, was ruled as doubtful on Wednesday and then — Ta-Da! — was back in his starting position at practice today. Head coach Tim Burke confirmed afterward that Johnson, who has appeared in 92 consecutive games dating back to the 2008 season when he missed a contest because of the death of his half brother, will be back for Saturday’s home date against the Toronto Argonauts.
“As a football player I was always told pain is weakness leaving the body,” Johnson said. “If I feel like I can move and be productive then I feel like I can go no matter if I’m dealing with a little pain or not I can fight through it.”
Johnson was injured Monday returning a punt and did not finish the game.
“The way I got bent backwards… I hurt my ankle a few weeks back and I’ve been playing on it and then in the game it re-aggravated it and irritated it and couldn’t put any pressure on my heel otherwise I would have come back in the game and played on it,” he said. “After they talked to the doctors and everybody it was clear that I would be fine. It would be just a couple of days for me to get some rest and stay off of it. It’s feeling a lot better.
“Actually, it seems that when I hurt it again it actually might have put it back in place. It feels much better than it did in the past couple of weeks.”
“He’s had an amazing recovery this week,” added Burke. “Two days ago he was in a boot and today he’s out practicing and looking like he hasn’t missed a beat. He’s just one of those guys…. It’s happened a couple of times this year when we thought he was going to be out and he always manages to make it back.”
Burke also confirmed that new defensive end Michael McAdoo, added to the club’s practice roster on Oct. 10, will be activated to the roster in place of Desia Dunn, who is out with a foot injury.
