RCMP have laid a murder charge in connection with the death of a woman earlier this week in northern Manitoba.
Craig John George Flett, 20, has been charged with second-degree murder. RCMP responded to a report of gunshots fired on the on the Tataskweyak Cree Nation on Tuesday at around 12:30 p.m. and found the body of a female, who was later identified as Annette Freda Beardy-Spence.
An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound. RCMP stated that the victim and accused knew each other.
Flett appeared in court in Thompson on Thursday.
