A Winnipeg man found injured in an empty parking lot near the Royal Albert Arms hotel late Monday died overnight, police said this morning.

Police say the 42-year-old man died from “an apparent fall.” Officers have focused much of their investigation this morning on a third-floor suite and the window.

For now, homicide investigators are treating the death as suspicious.

The man is believed to be a tenant of the hotel, a police spokesman said.

The lot is at the south end of the building in the Exchange District.

Police say the call came in around 11:45 p.m., and officers have been at the scene since then. Interviews with other people in the building are being done, police said.
