ABOUT THE FLYERS
- The Flyers come into today’s Black Friday game off a dark result, a 4-2 loss Wednesday in Tampa. In that game, Philly’s scoring woes returned. The Flyers had two goals in the game’s final two minutes, already trailing 3-0.
- In that vein, the Flyers’ leading scorer heading to today’s game is centre Claude Giroux, who has 17 points in 24 games.
- Back-to-back losses have followed a three-game winning streak, leaving the Flyers in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division at 10-12-2. Philly’s 52 goals are the second-lowest total in the Eastern Conference.
- The Jets would be well-advised to stay out of the penalty box today — the Flyers have nine power-play goals in their eight-game power-play-goal streak.
- Philadelphia’s record against Western Conference teams this season is 1-3-1, includuing a 3-2 shootout loss in Winnipeg that was the only blemish on the team’s 6-0-1 run earlier this month.
