Officials at Fortress Developments say they’re very excited about the interest in the massive mixed-use project being planned for downtown Winnipeg.

The Toronto developers announced today the project on the north side of Graham Avenue between Smith and Garry streets will be called SkyCity Centre. That was the winning entry by Winnipegger Robert Cable in the name-the-project contest.

The $200 million project is expected to have major commercial tenants lined up early in the new year, possibly including a national grocery chain.
